Ranmudu Ella Falls

Ranmudu Ella Falls in Thunmodara is a tributary of the Wakganga River, and its waters feed the Kelani River. The fall is the result of its own success. The surrounding ecosystem is under threat from large numbers of trampling visitors due to its popularity, particularly on weekends.

It is located 48 kilometres from Colombo, in the Colombo District Hanwella PC. Drive to Tumodara village from the Columbo-Avissawella highway. The waterfall is 0.5km away.

Thunmodara is a relaxed village surrounded by a mountainous forest cover that protects the main water source in the Colombo District. The village is home to one of the district’s four waterfalls. The other three waterfalls in Colombo are also in the same vicinity.
