Wedda Peni Ella

The 3m Wedda Peni Ella fall is served by the Telgamu Oya, which begins on the Kirigalpotha Mountain (1637m) and flows through the Atanwala village. Here the fall is situated and was once inhabited by the aborigine or Vedda people. According to folklore a Wedda chieftain slipped and fell to his death here.

It is located in the Matale District. Take the Riverston road for 36km, descending near the post office, then trek for 1km to the fall.
Wedda Peni Ella Fall lies in Atanwala just below the bridge. There is no clear path to the base and there are plenty of leeches. The marker points to the approximate area of the waterfall.
